Currently, I am working on an animation that will be uploaded in Shorts and Reels as I progress. When I get a full episode completed, I will edit the shorts together into a full video. Right now I'm toying with the idea of making it mixed media; with backgrounds being 3D modeled and the characters as the only 2D element. I know I am a skilled hard surface modeler and I think making the backgrounds in 3D (Either Maya or Blender) is well within my skillset. I also believe that 2D Characters are much more expressive than my current capabilites with 3D character design and rigging. I do intend to delve deeper into that in the future but I want to start on this project first as it's been on my mind.

I have the first full episode almost totally storyboarded out. This started as a semester project so at the time, it had to be cut short. Now that I've graduated, I can revisit it and take as much time as I need!

The title "Blue Days" as well as the story stems from my own life. When I was younger, I struggled massively with anxiety and agoraphobia, like David. When I was getting better, I would keep a physical calendar in my room hung up on the wall. The Blue Days were marked on the calendar as days that I went outside. I am now in a place where I don't need to do that but writing this story hits close to home.
I named him David because I was also learing about the Statue of David at the time. The statue was supposed to be the representation of the perfect man. I feel as though with naming my character David, it is questioning what perfection is. Is it being born great, or working towards improvement?
The dog, Daisy, is based off of my two dogs that I had growing up. I made her a Cairn terrier like my one dog but made her ditzy (in a cute way) like my other dog. Daisy also has her smart moments in the story. She is sort of David's therapy dog.
